Trip to Pavaghad

A trip to Pavaghad, near Baroda....

route from Baroda to Halol and then right turn to Pavaghad- the highway is world class with Hotels / motels on the sides.

Smooth ride, clear sky, rich green canopy on the sides

One can climb by stairs and also by rope car, remains of a tomb

deep valley, vertically deep - thrilling experience during rope car journey

Donkeys shuttle carrying the goods... but they are unmindful of the weight.... donkeys!!!! doing gr8 WORK....

Donkey on the move- a picture of shade and contrast....

Kali Maa temple at the top of the Hill

Flag flying at the top of the temple

Pond at the top of hill- crystal clear backed by greenish surrounding

other view of the pond...

Great Shot... search on the pond- for what??.... may be for coins, as devotees throw coins in the pond

Display of antic and show pieces on the enroute shops...

Solitary reaper donkey on a pensive mood -
may be thinking of their fate- living on the edge....

An Jain temple on the hill enroute... deserted and without rush..

captured from the other side....

on the way back... country side village....rustic fertile environment....

ha., fresh, fertile, green.. a treat to eye...

the way back... ofcourse to return once again, as it was memorable and enchanting.

on 7th October 2007, ie on the lazy Sunday Morning, we decided to visit Pavaghat- a hill spot located around 50 kms away from Baroda. The hill is famous for Temple of Maha Kali and has facility of Cable Cart to reach the top. The surrounding place is called Champaner: It seems it is a "World Heritage" site and contains remains of Fort and Mosque built by Mohammed Begda in 11th Century. Due to copious monsoon rains this year, we could see rich green and clear water in the ponds and lakes.
Thanks to My friend chandru, who have penchant for images, shades, and lights snaps with Nikon and captured the finer moments of our memorable trip.

Hi Raju,

Really a treat to the eye! The pictures were captured brilliantly! The commentary is equally good and gave a feeling of viewing National Geographic channel. Cheers!
